Prakriti
Contemporary/creative painting · Bihar

Born in Nalanda, Prakriti is a visual artist and Ph.D. scholar in the Painting Department, Faculty of Visual Arts, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. She holds an M.F.A. in Creative Painting from BHU, where she secured first position and was awarded the BHU Medal (2024), and a B.F.A. in Painting from the College of Arts & Crafts, Patna University. She has qualified the UGC NET (Visual Art) three times and has participated in several group exhibitions, art camps, and workshops. Her work is rooted in her life experiences and connection to nature, particularly its floral forms, which she renders in close detail and often inflects with the ancient Indian miniature tradition. She has long been fascinated by relationships: between people, between elements of nature, and between one living being and another. She expresses these bonds through miniature flowers, dots, and dashes of colour. Whatever the medium, her practice moves between the representational and the imaginative, built up through layers of colour, flowers, texture, and media.
