Astha Tiwari

Astha Tiwari is a Varanasi-based contemporary visual artist whose work moves through themes of memory, fragility, and quiet persistence, often using the insect as a central metaphor. Working primarily in watercolors and earth colors, alongside conceptual installations and found objects, she traces the presence of what is left behind, where absence opens into a space for reflection.

She holds a BFA from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, and is currently pursuing her MFA there. Her work has been shown widely, including at the Kochi-Muziris Biennale (2025–26), the Bharat Kala Bhawan Museum, and the 90th All India Exhibition of the Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar. In 2025 she was an awardee at the 11th Annual Women Artist's Exhibition in Chandigarh.

As she puts it: "What remains, continues to speak."
